Meet the Team
At the Dance Factory we have an unparalleled commitment to quality Dance Education and have worked tirelessly over the past thirty years to achieve our status as an Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, Approved Dance Centre offering the, government recognised professional teaching qualifications of the Diploma in Dance Education (DDE).
The ISTD is accredited by Ofqual.
We teach children from three years of age onwards and many former students have gone on to have successful and fulfilling careers in the performing arts worldwide as performers, educators and administrators. We also have had students go on to further their education at Laine Theatre Arts, Bird College, Italia Conti, Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, Performers College and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland

Lesley Wood
Lesley is a Fellow and Examiner of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and as such she is one of the most experienced and respected teachers in the country. She was an External Verifier with the Scottish Qualifications Authority and a faculty member of Dance For All ,Edinburgh. She is also a renowned choreographer.
She has choreographed for Imagine Productions, the BBC, Scottish Television and Scottish Opera. In addition she choreographed 'Footloose', 'We Will Rock You', 'Rent', 'Our House', 'Witches of Eastwick', 'Songs for a New World, 'Jekyll and Hyde' and 'Children of Eden' and Imagine Theatre

Megan Woods
Megan came to the Dance Factory at 16 years old, taking classes in modern and tap. She then trained at Dance For All Theatre School, Edinburgh, where she gained experience in a variety of dance styles and trained in the ISTD modern and tap syllabus with Lesley Wood as her tutor. After graduating in 2017, Megan decided to pursue her ISTD DDE teacher training at the Dance Factory, Megan has a degree in marketing and entrepreneurship from the University of Strathclyde Business School. Currently, Megan teaches and assists some of our children and adult classes.

Susan Haldane
Susan Haldane, BA (Honours) Open, Diploma in Dance Education (ISTD), Diploma in Professional Stage Dance
In 2006, Susan graduated from Dance for All at the Theatre School, Edinburgh with a Diploma in Professional Stage Dance. Thereafter, she gained a contract for Disneyland Paris where she was involved in daily parades and character work.
Susan then decided to return to Glasgow and embark on her dance teaching career and has now been teaching dance to children and adults for over 16 years. Throughout her teaching career Susan completed her Diploma in Dance Education in both Modern and Tap (ISTD) under the tutorage of Lesley Wood at The Dance Factory. Most recently, Susan used her credits gained from her dance teaching qualifications to obtain a place in the third year of a BA (honours) Open Degree.
Susan says “It’s an absolute joy to teach the adult Tap and Ballet classes at The Dance Factory”.
