Lesley Wood

Megan Woods

Lesley  is a Fellow and Examiner of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and as such she is one of the most experienced and respected teachers in the country. She is also an External Verifier with the Scottish Qualifications Authority and a faculty member of Dance For All ,Edinburgh. She is also a renowned choreographer.

Lesley's CV is too extensive to list here but she has choreographed  for the BBC, Scottish Television and Scottish Opera. In addition she choreographed 'Footloose', 'We Will Rock You', 'Rent', 'Our House', 'Witches of Eastwick', 'Songs for a New World, 'Jekyll and Hyde' and 'Children of Eden'.

Megan came to the Dance Factory at 16 years old, taking classes in modern and tap. She then trained at Dance For All Theatre School, Edinburgh, where she gained experience in a variety of dance styles and trained in the ISTD modern and tap syllabus with Lesley Wood as her tutor. After graduating in 2017, Megan decided to pursue her ISTD DDE teacher training at the Dance Factory, while working towards a degree in marketing and entrepreneurship at the University of Strathclyde Business School. Currently, Megan teaches and assists some of our children and adult classes. 

Lauren Borthwick

Lauren is a graduate of Glasgow Academy of Musical Theatre Arts and London Studio Centre. Lauren's credits include the Olympics closing ceremony (Alistair Marriott, with Cindy Jourdain and Jonathan Howells), The One Show (Arlene Phillips) and Romeo and Juliet (Adil Shaikh).

Olivia McLay

Olivia trained at the Elizabeth Henderson School of Dancing in Glasgow, assisting classes from the age of 16. A former member of the Scottish Ballet’s youth contemporary company ‘Steps Out’, Olivia now works as a freelance teacher and choreographer. She teaches Adult Tap classes and is the Vocational Tap Teacher at Central Scotland Ballet School and offers supply teaching for Waterfront Dance Studio in Edinburgh. She provides choreography for Stirling Gymnastics Club and has worked closely with undergraduate students studying Motion Sensing Technology at Glasgow Caledonian University. Olivia is currently working towards her DDE (Diploma in Dance Education), specialising in tap dance and teaches our 50+ Ballet and Tap classes. Olivia has CACDP Level 2 British Sign Language.
